OVERVIEW
PROJECT 1
PROBLEM STATEMENT AND objective
Users face disjointed experiences when accessing client data and managing their interactions. This fragmentation forces consultants to switch between multiple systems, leading to inefficient workflows.
The goal was to develop a robust platform that enables consultants to efficiently add and manage their accounts and clients in one centralised location, saving time while also streamlining the CRM cleansing process.
PROCESS challenges
Aligning conflicting stakeholder priorities was a key challenge I tackled to keep the project on track.
An unfinished design system made progress tricky, requiring tight collaboration to build it out while pushing the project forward.
A rocky handoff process - caused by new tools like Zeplin and communication gaps - made alignment a key challenge.
Actions and impact
Led end-to-end delivery from research to implementation, achieving optimised, user-centric designs.
Built strong relationships with engineers and QA, ensuring consistent communication and high-quality design implementation.
A thorough handoff process ensured the final product matched the design exactly, which had been a challenge in past projects.
Conducted the company’s 2nd usability test independently, achieving stakeholder buy-in and positive feedback, which led to prioritisation in future projects.
Leveraged test insights and analytics to refine our design approach, establishing new guidelines for responsive design.
PROJECT 2
PROBLEM STATEMENT AND objective
Consultants manually extracted data from multiple PowerBi dashboards to create PowerPoint presentations for clients, making the process time-consuming and inefficient.
There was a need for a centralised solution where all dashboards were unified in one platform, allowing consultants and clients to access, share, and print reports seamlessly.
PROCESS challenges
Limited stakeholder access.
Used Power BI instead of our in-house capabilities due to budget/time constraints so I had to adapt designs to fit its limitations.
The tight deadline left no time for research with real users, although the designs have been tested internally.
I had to create clear and intuitive displays while maintaining consistency with our design system.
Actions and impact
Translated complex datasets into clear, accessible visualisations, requiring a strong grasp of the data.
Designed visuals for immediate clarity, using clear labels and tooltips for added context.
Aligned designs with Power BI’s capabilities in collaboration with a data analyst.
Conducted A/B testing with internal teams from various organisational perspectives, which was very well-received.
Experimented with diverse visualisation types, such as bubble charts, Sankey diagrams, and scatter plots, to find the most effective data presentation methods.
Made dashboards print-friendly.
PROJECT 3
PROBLEM STATEMENT AND objective
PROCESS challenges
Aligning with the company’s unique digital style meant reviewing and adapting their design system components to ensure seamless integration.
With limited support, little guidance, and no access to real users, the design process had to rely on assumptions.
Actions and impact
Met our biggest client's expectations, showcasing Control Risks’ UX expertise and increasing reputation.
Presented to the CEO, CDIO and other departments, securing more dashboard projects.
Combined three separate dashboards into a unified in-house solution to eliminate fragmentation.
Conducted a heuristic evaluation of the current dashboards, presenting critical improvement areas to stakeholders.
Enhanced accessibility to broaden usability, addressing previous limitations.
