Hi, I’m Andrea,
Product Designer at Control Risks
I design dashboards, internal tools, and data visualizations for web and mobile. Currently scaling a design system and leading accessibility efforts. Previously worked with a National Geographic-funded nonprofit and a med-tech startup.
Co-designed a new experience that improved clarity and accelerated the validation of observations for two user groups. The project, funded by National Geographic three times, supported the legal protection of five marine mammal species.

Med-tech
Co-developed a design system at Control Risks that increased efficiency by 85%, streamlined workflows, saved developers time, and was adopted by 2 departments.
Design Systems
Cross-department collaboration
What matters most to me is going beyond just designing screens. I’m focused on creating scalable systems, improving collaboration, and driving accessibility. I lead design initiatives that help teams grow — from establishing design systems to advocating for data-informed UX decisions.
Design system ownership
Led the design system initiative across the company.
Built 18 out of 23 components.
Created full documentation for design and devs.
Presented the value of the system to senior leadership and stakeholders.
Tracked adoption and created a contribution model.
Design–dev collaboration
Advocated for improved Figma organization and design handoff to streamline collaboration with developers.
Regularly join design retrospectives to identify gaps and drive continuous improvement.
Encouraged open communication.
I led a project that closely matches the Figma designs, which is uncommon at the company. This highlights the effectiveness of the documentation and communication.
Research & data advocacy
Independently led usability tests that influenced stakeholder perception on the importance of research.
Pushed for data over assumptions — explaining value to stakeholders.
Leveraged AI tools to speed up research workflows.
Accessibility leadership
Initiated and led accessibility efforts across products.
Ran audits, created checklists, and trained team members.
Shared learnings from conferences/events.
Continue to embed accessibility practices into everyday design.
Accessibility checklist customised for Control Risks, used by designers and engineers across all projects.
Presenting the importance of accessibility in one of our workshops.
The UX playbook
I built a library to track everything I learn — from accessibility guidelines to UX research insights and design patterns. It’s grown into a shared resource with over 200 notes that help the team make faster, smarter decisions.
Over 200 notes covering accessibility, health conditions, business insights, Figma tips, communication strategies, UX, UI, and more! Happy to share it upon request :)
Bringing knowledge in
I regularly attend events on design, accessibility, AI, and architecture — from Government Digital Services and Google to Monzo and King’s College — to stay ahead and share actionable insights that shape our work and promote continuous learning.
